iPhone 4 and 3G in NYC - is network data access down?

Hi folks. I am unable to get online with 3G on my new iP4. 5 bars of 3G, cellular date is ON. Text messaging, phone calls - all good. But no internet. Rebooted it several times, then restored it. Got the problem yesterday, same story today... wifi is fine.

Update: just tested on Edge - no go.

Anyone in NY are has the same problem?

same problem...switched to EDGE and everything is working fine. This problem will probably go on for a while with all the activations.

hmmm...probably best to get near some wi-fi if you can. All these activations are messing things up.

that's what i was thinking... will check again at night, hopefully activations will slow down then.

Me, too. I am in NYC where I have had my iPhone 4 since Wednesday (when the 3G data service was blazing fast I presume because so few new users had the iPhone 4) and today the 3G data has come to a crawl and at times doesn't work at all. I hope this is temporary.

It's a known issue with restoring from a jailbroken 3GS.

Search on the forums for answers to that issue.

Yep, I am in Downtown Manhattan and noticed a real bad slowdown earlier today. Seems to be a little better now (4:15 PM).

This on the day they announced the new 850mhz network was finally done in NYC

activations on 6/24 & 6/25.
