Syncing iPhone Pics to PC

I am running Windows XP and was always prompted to run the "Scanner and Camera Wizard" upon plugging my iPhone into my computer.

I used this method to download and backup all of the images I took and downloaded on my iPhone, to my computer.

For some reason, the wizard is not coming up anymore.

Did I miss an update note where they got rid of this? If so, how can I download the pics from my iPhone to my computer?

if it doesn't pop up the phone should appear in My Computer and I believe you can open it up from there.

Unfortunately, it still doesn't do it. Windows will not recognize it as being a camera device. I don't understand why it just stopped doing that.

Anyone else?

I heard my friend used some third party iPhone photo backup software on this. (Reference link: Tansee iPhone Transfer Photo - powerful iPhone photo backup software from Gutensoft.com )
But I haven't tried this before.
