got my girl an iphone for xmas
nobody told me you need a &^%$ computer to activate the dam thing
how stupid
my $$^^ computer is a work one and you need admin rights to connect a device
guess what its xmas day
i want to put in the sim and make calls
what a crock

The store would usually do it for you, I'm sure you probably wanted it to be nice and sealed up for the gift but i would have perfered a working one myself.

And don't take this the wrong way.. But who doesn't have a computer these days! I would honestly die from withdrawl..

Sorry you are in a tight spot. It's been that way for every single iPhone though, so it's nothing new. It needs iTunes for pretty much everything. Should have checked the forums out before hand. I'm sure this is out of the question but you can swing buy your local Apple store and have them activate it. (depending on what time it is in your location.)
