Cover flow art and podcast icons missing

I've had a problem with cover flow art,podcast pics (when viewing in lists) and sometimes video icons disappearing after syncing with itunes 9.It seems to happen when I have purchased new albums & downloaded new podcasts onto my iphone 3GS running 3.1,but sometimes everything is okay and the artwork is not messed up.I have had this intermittent problem with the previous 2 versions of itunes 8,OS 3.0.1 on my 3GS and OS 3.0 on my 2G Touch.I had no problems with OS 2.2.1 (I think!) on my 2G Touch and itunes 8 (last but one version).

The only way to get the artwork etc back is to delete the albums/podcasts from my iphone then reinstall them
