That's weird how the "voice memo" icon seems to be static and won't change with the new springboard, mine too :)...anyone have a work-around for that?
Mine......simple
Love it
Mine is default. After a while, the need for individuality gave way to the ability to pick up any of several different iPhones, maybe freshly restored, and never have to hunt for apps...
I had mine like that for a while.
I grouped mine by category. First page is productivity, with a lot of the default apps plus things like PI, Agendus, and Takephone. Second page is social/networking, so my many Twitter apps, FB, Beejive, etc. Third page is games. Miscellaneous stuff on the 4th page, and page 5 is for stuff I really didn't want like the stock app and iPhone callendar.
Very organized Alli.
I kept mine at default ever since I got the iphone 3g S. My previous iphone were jailbroken and I had about 13 different themes. I got tired of searching and changing themes though. But I'm choosing not to jailbreak my 3g S, so the default theme is what I'm rocking. And for some strange reason I really love having the default theme too. (shrugs shoulders)
I have my Home Screen on default. I don't have a need to change it. The rest of my apps are scattered about. I think I need to arrange those.
Mine is pretty basic, but it's jailbroken, obviously.
Am I missing something? I dont see any obvious jailbreaking here^^^
Question......does it need to be jailbroken to download themes?
Mine is the same way, first page on mine is default apps plus the ones i use the most, 2nd page is productivity/media (flickr, fandango, shazam, remote, etc), 3rd page is games, 4th page is finance apps (stocks, tax, auditing, etc), 5th page is reference (dictionary, wiki, spell checker, amazon, ebay, etc), 6th page is random news and sports apps.
I'm weird too where I don't want my 1st page to be full so I always leave 1 space open, haha
My first page:

He has 5 icons in the dock.
Yes, you have to be jailbroken to download themes...
I keep the default apps on my first page, and the rest of my pages are very organized.
I don't use the stock weather app since it is far from informative, so TWC is on there. And Sportstap just got push for MLB games that works very well so that has been promoted to front page status. Messages and Contacts are high use so they are close to where my thumb naturally sits.
I haven't got my iPhone for very long yet so stuff is still changing a bit.
I like to have the stuff I use most at the bottom close to the dock (as the dock apps are what I use most aswell). I'm still thinking of switching, the app store, itunes and stocks app to the next page as I don't use them very often, but the icons are nice and "iconic" for iphone.

The 5 Icon dock.
Yes your need to be jail-broken to download themes.
Changed my home screen a little.
I left mine default with the exception of two apps.
I have 9 apps on each page, the first 1 1/2 holds the default apps, the next few hold the utilities apps (anything that isn't a game or default app), and the last ones hold the games. They are all sorted by color.
Here is mine. Beejive will earn the dock spot again when the updates are released and no more crashing.

Do you cancel your AT&T Nav when you no your not gonna use it or do you keep it?
Can I wander off topic a little bit?
(Thanks).
Is it time for Apple to start considering new structure for the Phones interface?
I mean, we soon learned that having icons littering our PC/MAC desktop was NOT the way to go when we started to accumulate more than 7 applications.
Most distros of Linux place things in a menu tree by Category. Microsoft never did learn this.
Apple designed this screen interface before there was any Apps or App store (other than what shipped on new phones).
Lots of folks in this thread organize by category. Couldn't the phone come with this structure built in (with option to customize of course). Perhaps a given APP could be in more than one category. Same App, just appears in two different places.
Is the Pre Card structure automatically more useful simply because it attempts to build on categories?
Can Apple remain long with this cluttered hodge podge of random placement of
Apps without falling behind the industry?
I don't think search is much of a solution, not to my idea of organization any way. The problem of search is you have to know names. Some people are more image oriented (which is why we invented icons in the first place).
Perhaps Apple is planning that we all going to be talking to our phones to call up apps, and therefore organization is not needed. Simply announce "BeeJive" and it pops up?
Anyway, if you believe the hype of Apple and its fanboys: Apple had be best designs and user interface.
I submit that this is not the case any longer with regard to this AGING and somewhat childish interface, and I'm predicting that now that Jesus Jobs is back its long overdue for replacement with a totally new concept.
First home page, apps I use a hella lot.
Here is my home screen. These are the apps I use most excluding games. The next page is all games, then music apps, photo apps the last page is mostly original apps.
That's what I have for now..
Looking at most of the screen shots most people seem to have the camera icon in the top right hand corner. Just an observation.
Yea mine will always be there.
Mine is set up exactly how Apple ships it
do you have a stalker? you should check your voicemail :p
Dang.. seeing all these jailbreak screenshots is starting to make me miss those days.
Me to made me think about jailbreaking again but I don't think I will.
i was using this one on my old 2g for a while:
and this is my what my 3g's current home screen looks like:
I like that.
I keep it. I actually have it on two lines that I use. I actually don't use the 2nd line much, but just in case, I'll have it there.
Updated since my jailbreak.
A8stract NTW theme tweaked quite a bit. Did't like a lot of the stock icons as there were to hard to "understand" and the dock didn't "jive" in my eyes so I changed that too.
http://i556.photobucket.com/albums/s...e/IMG_0009.png
I like your theme and tweaking, even though I think it would look better with a big Manchester logo for the background.... ;)
I've crossed over to the darkside and done a jailbreak! Ohnoes! I just love having the snow leopard background and the reflective 5 icon dock. Just wish they'd fix the messaging icon for dockflow the way they had the SMS icon. :S
WoW that is my favorite them ever!
I gotta admit, that's pretty hot.
thanks haha
That's Arsenal :P
My new one
using winterboard & custom ssh'd mods have:
Apple transitioning background theme
5 icon Row
5 icon Dock
invisible dock
custom apple signal level indicator
custom apple home app icons
sms & email notifications in status bar
custom transformer ring/smstones
custom lock hinge/unlock UIsounds
& categories custom folders
(pics to come)
I like that one also I might be forced to jailbreak now.
I can't stand clutter so i JB my 3g and have minimum icons on my homescreen with my wife in the background.
Hi Matt74,
Just wondering where you got that theme or if you made it yourself? I like the 5 dock option and the icons. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Torrey
I have SBSettings, 5 icon row, 5 icon dock, reflective dock, and a personalized combination of the Pirate theme and the Windows7Mobile theme. I've included a bunch of pics, because I love the Windows7Mobile theme so much. It has to be the most complete theme available, and it skins a lot of the apps (like Cydia, App Store, Safari, etc.) to appear like windows programs, with the icons I am familiar with since I use a PC. I also enjoy the irony of using a Windows theme on an Apple product, of course. ;)
My home screen....
Thats looks nice.
I just got my iphone on Friday - - There's no way to create folders?
You have to jailbreak it.
how do i get the pic up here???
You cannot post it from your iPhone but go to advanced and then Manage Attachments.
You talking about posting a pic? If so, use the "Attachment Manager" not "Insert Image", unless you have a URL of your pic.
naw i can figure that out but how do i get a print screen of the phone
Power Button + Home Button.
i got it set up for information and maping...
and of course radio
and thannks for the printscreen help
Guessing you travel alot.
not overly but i just like the info front and center.. i figured if i need to fuss with it while drivign it should be on the front page...
Wow. Mine is so boring compared to everyone else's! LOL
Just changed mine out a bit. Discovered some new apps.
I wish non jailbreakers could have 5 icon dock.
Just did the jailbreak on my phone today... LOVE it!!
this is my home page first 4 pages is my main apps eerythign 5th page and beyond is games.
I am trying out a new one...
Here's mine, all apple apps + live clock, live weather, and cycorder.Attachment 2108
(in case you're wondering, it's a modified Illumine theme with Five Icon dock and springboard ;))
WoW I am about to jailbreak. These themes look awesome.
This is making me want to jailbreak more and more....ugh.
Man, I really like this. What is this? Do you have the weather and skyline at the top of every page? That really is cool.
I get bored so quickly my background and theme change daily sometimes even halfway through the day. I'm jailbroken so I've got the 5 Icon dock, my homescreen are the apps I use the Majority of the time, 2nd screen is the apps I use just as tad less often. 3rd screen is for games and social network apps and 4th is for the ones I never use

Whats dial 4 now?
I just wished they had a way to remove unused icons, rather than having to throw them on the last page.
Can't you just throw them in a folder using Categories?
My phone is not jailbroken so it's not a very exciting home screen.
I keep the main home screen as Apple ships except that I put "Messages" down in the dock. The next screen are apps I use ALL the time like Tweetie, BeeJive, and Pandora, then the next screen are the next most important and so on and so on.
There is a jailbreak solution for this, I used to jailbreak mine. It was handy because I never used stocks and I had an app that worked better than notes but in my experience the stability issues jailbreaking poses outweigh the benefits of having a couple of apps that Apple doesn't approve.
I am a news junkie & I do like most of the default apps. :)
What stability issues are there? I got my 1st gen when the IPhone first hit, ofcourse we didn't have them here in Canada so that phone was unlocked and Jailbroken since day one and still that way today in use. I've only ever had the phone freeze on me in the 2 or 3 years two or three times and no other stability issues. My current 3G is Jailbroken so I can turn off the 3G and Edge networks because I bought the phone outright so I don't have the expensive data plans so I only use Wifi. Again no stability issues.
Tramain
Dial4now is a program that will dial one number that you program when you hit the app so it makes it alot easier to dial when you don't have time to go through the different screens of the phone to dial a number. There are a whole bunch Dial1now and so on 4 was the first one I found and I only have one number I dial 90% of the time.
It's called Apple Pro them V2, and yea, the weather and skyline stays at the top of every page..
I learned how to make custom icons for everything, and found the ones I've been looking for, soooo....
- 1st Page:
- Unchanged, completely stock
- 2nd Page:
- GPS apps
- 3rd Page:
- Productivity apps
- 4th Page:
- Account management (AT&T, bank, Netflix, etc.)
- 5th Page:
- Social networking and IM clients
- 6th Page:
- Networking/IT apps (Ping, remote server control, etc.)
- 7th Page:
- Uncategorized apps
- 8th Page:

Very organized
I have 4 pages on my iPhone pg 1 has the app I use the most, pg2 Most frequent people I call using "call Me" pgs 3 & 4 are other Apps I use but not that important. (Except for Camera). Just haven't decided where I want to place it yet. IGoSlo
I have set up my home screen in my way. It is customized according to my office work needs. So, you can understand my mailing menu and contacts menu is always in front of me.
Here's mine. Jailbroken obviously. Nothing too crazy. I have lockcalendar as well. Oh and I have my camera application hidden because I have my home button set up to double click to it.

Attachment 3183
That is sexy as hell.
Now that I can re-arrange my apps in Itunes I finally re-organized my home screen. I no longer have Winterboard :( it crashes my 3.1 JB so I don't have backgrounds anymore so excuse the bland lameness of the black background. I have all my everyday use apps, then I go to Social Networking, Games, Least used apps.
Latest home screen, most used apps. All these themes look sweet, still considering JB.
SBsettings works.
Aqwoah, all the way inc lockscreen, keyboard, the whole enchilada...only theme that has all the special icons one can use
wow Trmain what a way to be original haha :p
