Activation/AT&T Bill

Iphone (2g) Unlock/Jailbreak.
AT&T customer. LG phone. (SIM card says 3g)

When I put my sim card into the iphone, it asks me to activate, it already has
my number listed from the sim card.
If I activate the phone, can i disable the edge monthly charge?
If i can i will disable edge on my device, AND use a parental block from data transfer.

So....
Will AT&T allow this? My contract is up and I can sign a new 2 year agreement, but will it be more using an iphone than my old LG phone? (Not paying for the edge)

If its asking you to activate, I dont think your phone is unlocked and jail broken.

AT&T will know you are using a iPhone and can charge you for the data plan without notice.

I think its unlocked, since i can use it without any sim inserted.
I used quickpwn and selected unlock?

AT&T will charge you for a data plan, that is not an option.
