Email - Bulk Delete

My dad wants to get the new iPhone 3G. He said he often gets 300 emails a day and was wondering if there was a bulk delete option to delete all 300 emails at once if he wanted to OR does he have to click all 300 and then press delete?


I know on the old iPhone you had to select them individually, but has this changed?

As far as I know you have to select all 300 emails to mark them for deletion. Then click delete.

I don't get that many emails but I have an Exchange account, so I use Outlook to manage emails the easy way.

Select the account, not the inbox. Go to Trash, Edit, Delete All.

No. In your inbox, go to Edit, then select all the items you want to send to trash.

Edit: apple in their infinite wisdom removed this as an option now you have to go back to doing it the hard way


to save ppl A LOT of time do this

1. Go into your inbox
2. Press Edit
3. Select one message to delete
4. Press and hold the delete button
5. While you are still holding the delete button, uncheck the email you just selected.
6. Release the delete button.

Now you will be shown a prompt to either "Delete All" or Cancel.

I can't get this to work with my iPhone 4S from my INBOX. When I release the delete button, I'm just back to where I started. This does work swell from the TRASH folder. What am I doing wrong?

You can no longer bulk delete from Idevices without a third party app
