Battery percentage increases when unplugged

My issue is simple: After unplugging my device from its charger (at around 80%), the battery percentage is fine, but a few minutes later, without using it, the percentage goes up by a few % (about 2-7%) even though it’s been unplugged for a couple minutes.

So... What’s going on? Should I try calibrating my battery? Should I force restart it? Thanks for your answers.

Do a force restart and let us know.
If that fails, do the calibrating thingie.
Your next step would be to hit up Apple Store and ask for them to check your battery.

Well actually I’m using an iPad so that feature is unavailable to me, and would that even explain why the percentage increases even though it’s unplugged? I’m not really sure...

That suggests that your battery is not calibrated. No worries. There is an easy fix. Just drain your battery to zero(until the point it turns itself off) then let it charge completely. Do not power off your phone during this period. After the phone is fully charged use it normally. Next time you charge your phone there will be no problem.

Good advice! I would definitely give this a try!
