My iPad got wet

It rained hard a few days ago. I tried to protect my iPad from getting wet, but it did. This what happened (please see attached picture). Does it stand a chance at being repaired and restored? I can't afford to have it replaced--am currently cash strapped.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Have you tried submerging it for a couple of days in UNCOOKED rice? That may help.
