why is my ipad2 requesting a passcode to unlock. i never had a passcode

I cannot get into my ipad 2 without a passcode all of sudden.

Someone must've set a passcode on it. Try disabling find my iPhone and then restoring the device via iTunes. It should remove the passcode, but all of your data along with it.
