Bad iOS 10 updates not just in first hour!

I read how Apple made a statement that the problems with the iOS 10 updates failing with the picture plug into iTunes, and.or 1617 error, was just in the first hour and has been corrected. Wrong!

My daughter has an iPhone 6, and she attempted the upgrade last night - she got both of these failures. Thanks to this site I Knew to:
1. Plug into iTunes - it didn't see the phone
2. Hard reset of phone - plug in - the restore/update started from iTunes but hung at 80%
3. Hard reset - install restarts, hangs at 80% again.
4. Hard reset - phone has already upgraded

Shame on you Apple! Nobody really knows the reason for this failure do they?

I just wanted to let everyone know to be careful if friends/relatives are still to upgrade - the beast is still lurking...

I had no issues with this. My brother updated 3 devices yesterday and he didn't have any issues too.

Guess it was just an incidental thing and nothing major.

I have updated 2 other devices with no issues, but if it happens it's way beyond the typical user to figure out. It's a Genius bar appointment, with the commensurate time investment, for most to fix I suspect. It's pretty scary when it happens to someone.

Beside the fact that it's software and it can sometimes fail or have bugs? Nope.
