Hi, My friend has an iPod Touch 4G that I jailbroke for him on iOS 5.0.1 he has stayed with it since. Now he would like to upgrade to iOS 6/7 and keep his jailbreak stuff. Is this possible? I was thinking of the following methods:
Upgrade to iOS 6 jailbroken through patch or something custom ipsw
Upgrade to IOS 6 vanilla, jailbreak and get his stuff back
Maybe you can't get iOS 6 anymore because of signing
Or upgrade to iOS 7.
So that's the situation. What I want from you guys is what he can do right now so I can tell him the options.

Thanks.

If you have any questions, I will try to answer them.

Since the iPod touch 4G doesn't support iOS 7 and iOS 6.1.5 is the latest version for it I would suggest to update to iOS 6.1.2 if he has shsh blobs saved for that version or to stay where he is at.

If you upgrade you would have to restore then reinstall everything
