I suppose I will get flamed for not finding this somewhere else, but here goes..
I am new to JB'ing and I really don't want to mess up what is working. If I understand correctly when iOS6 does come out we will be automatically be get the iOS and the JB will not have been written yet. I understand that there are ways to backup your settings but people refer to hashtag etc and I don't know what the bleep they are talking about. Am I worried about nothing or can someone explain what I need to do?

It's easy... if prompted to upgrade in iTunes, ignore it, skip it, or tell it to remind you later - whatever... same with OTA - and continue to do the same until such time as you choose to upgrade.

Yep. "Just say 'no'" didn't work for Nancy Reagan in the '80s, but it will work here.

Also download the "no update" tweak, it actually blocks the option in your setting app do you can't ACCIDENTLY update like so many before you

I use Update Hider. Removes every reference to any iOS update. No badges (at all) and you can't even download the update (on the phone) until you remove the tweak.
