I have a 3G running JB on version 3.1 (7C144). I had been using PdaNet 1.33 to tether my MacBook via a peer-to-peer Wifi connection. However, I noticed that I don't need to launch PdaNet for this to work: I simply create a peer-to-peer network on my Mac, join it on the iPhone, make sure the IP address and netmask are the same (there seems to be a bug in the SnowLeopard DHCP implementation, where it assigns a bad netmask), and voila, I can browse the web, send/receive email, etc.
Anyone know whats going on here and who's doing the routing from the peer-to-peer Wifi connection to the 3G network on my iPhone?
