I'm planning to purchase my 1st iPhone this coming week, a 16 gb 3GS. I'm not technically savvy at age 60 regarding jailbeak. Sure, I understand what it makes available, but I need some direction. I work off a PC w/Windows XP.

<> Is it possible, with the 3GS & the new upgrade (3.1.2.), to jailbreak this phone? I thing so, but I’m confused w/the discussion about the newest firmware & baseband version.

<> If it is possible, seems like there's a few different programs (PwnageTool, Blackra1n, redsn0w). I'm not clear which to use or recommended for a new 3GS using a PC w/Windows xp. One program causes you to reconnect w/your PC & jailbreak again if the battery dies, or reboot is required, correct? Does one work best/support wi-fi?

3. Do not use your age as an excuse. At age 60, you're only marginally older than me, and I figured it out just fine by searching and reading.
