Springboard Crashes while Tethering with 3G

I have been using the tethering hack from here:

When I tether via USB, it works great for like 20 minutes, but then my springboard crashes and goes into safe mode. Anybody else seeing this problem?

Please don't reply with "Well, that's why you shouldn't use unauthorized hacks" blah blah blah. I pay for data and will use it how I want...

LiveClock makes the clock icon on your springboard show real time instead of 10:15 all the time. However, I unchecked it for now because it seems to chew through battery life.
