Google's SVP Hiroshi Lockheimer says green bubbles don't have to break group chats, issuing an open invitation to Apple to find a solution using RCS.

Maybe RCS works solid on a Pixel, but it’s not perfect on other Androids. It would turn off and on in the middle of conversations, and it’s very obvious when that happens - it switches from iMessage-like blue to a faded blue in Android Messages app, for those not aware. I’m a no for bringing them into iMessage, I moved to Apple because I was tired of Google breaking things.
