iMessage bug?

when I begin typing an iMessage, my phone beeps as if I'm receiving a new text even though I haven't. At first I thought I had just received a message at the same time I had just begun typing a message. Then I realized that there wasn't a new message or email. It has subsequently happened many times but seems to only happen when I've begun typing an iMessage only. Any thoughts? Anyone else? It only beeps when the ringer is on. If the ringer is off, it doesn't make a noise or it doesn't randomly vibrate like one may think could happen...again, it's only when the ringer is on and to other iMessage accounts.

Try rebooting your phone by holding the home button and sleep/wake button for about 15 seconds

tried that...didn't work. Still beeping at me s I'm typing an iMessage. Throws me off because I think I just got a text message but I really didn't. No one else is having this issue??
