Here's a guide to show you how to setup and use Frequent Locations and Next Destination with iOS 7.
When Frequent Locations is turned on your device will keep track of locations you go to on a regular basis. For most people, this could be work, school, home, or any of your frequently visited locations.
This information is used to improve maps, and also to provide you with location information.
The location information is called Next Destination, a feature that will display travel time to your Frequent Locations in the Notification Center. For example, if you go to work every morning at 8 your iPhone will learn the pattern, and after a few days, it will start showing the travel time to your destination in your Notification Center.
How do you turn on Frequent Locations and Next Destination?
To do this, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services > Frequent Locations > Frequent Locations On.
Once this is done make sure that Next Destination is turned on in your Notification Center. Go to Settings > Notification Center > Next Destination On.
When you go to a place around the same time, on the same days, for a few days your iPhone will learn the locations and develop a pattern.
Now you should be able to see information about your Next Destination in the Today View of the Notification Center.
I suggest adding your address in your own contact in your contacts app. This way, your iPhone will be able to know that this location is your home. When you?re away from home, your device will be able to give you an estimated time of how long it will take you to drive home. That's it, enjoy.
