Att next upgrade via apple store app

When through the process as if I was going to buy a 5s just to get an idea for when I preorder the 6 Plus and got this message below. It says New York since that's te zip I put in but just wanted to possibly give a heads up. I either have to pay 500+ because my full upgrade isn't due til 10/9/14 or order through att's website

Thanks for the tip, and if it were me, I'd have no problem waiting a few more weeks until October 9th to get the new iPhone. I'd be just as pleased to have it then as I would if I had opted to purchase on launch day...
