    How do I keep my iPad from losing the sound. The volume indicator shows the sound is all the way up but no sound comes thru. Especially with FaceTime. I can dial in FaceTime but I can't hear the ringing or the person I called though they can hear me. The only way to get sound back is to turn it off and then back on. Very frustrating! Is there a fix?

    This article is from 2015, so I'm not sure if the settings will be in the same place for you, but check to see if this helps any;

    Do you have any bluetooth devices that may be trying to connect as well? I have seen situations where it will bounce between two audio output devices intermittently.

    Restart it ,and make sure volume in call is not muted.
    Also update to the latest iOS

    I have the same problem. Nothing is muted. The only solution is to turn the device off and back on again which is a pain in the *** when you get a video call.
