Why did the gmail notification sound change back??

Recently, the gmail app changed its look and sound, which I really like. For some reason, the notification sound switched back to the old sound? I liked the new tone because it was more distinctive. If you use this app, obviously you cant change anything about it, since its not Apple's, but this sucks. Has anyone else noticed this?
