my phone just lost all of my contacts how do i get htem back

All of a sudden I cannot access any contacts

If the contacts disappeared 'without you doing anything' then simply reboot your device. Furthermore, go into the Contacts app (I'm assuming your device is an iPhone), select "Groups", and then make sure that everything therein has a check mark next to it.

Did you possibly uncheck contacts under the email account its associated with? Go into settings- then contacts and see if the account is listed
