How do I handle My App Store showing phantom notification?

There is a red number one over my app icon. When I open app store there is nothing needing to be updated

I've seen this a few times myself, best thing to do is force close the App Store, reset your phone, wait about 15-30 minutes, be sure you have strong signal (wifi or cellular), then open the App Store again.

Open up the App Store, then touch/tap Favorites icon on bottom 10 times. This will clear and empty the App Store cache.

Close and relaunch the App Store
