ipod 4th generation jailbreak. How do I downgrade itunes to 12.0.1.

I am trying to jailbreak my ipod touch 4 generation and all the methods seem to require I downgrade itunes. Unfortunately Itunes won't allow me to downgrade, even after removing ever apple app, cleaning my registry and erasing all residual files AND renaming my itunes library to bak. I get a warning that tells me a newer version of itunes is installed on this computer.

Might be worth creating a virtual machine if you really want to jailbreak it. You can create one in hyper-v (to get this search for "programs and features", then in the sidebar click turn windows features on or off, and find hyper-v. Or you can install the free VMWare player
