Cannot get Siri to add an event in Calendar because it has passed

I'm trying to keep track of clocking in and out using the Calendar on my iPhone. If I ask Siri to add "clocked in at 9:00 am today" and it's 9:30, she cannot add it because the time has already passed. Is there another way to do this?

You will have to enter it manually.
