I want a solid laptop to use voice recognition software with and to create lots of documents and power point presentations. Writing articles and books, editting and teaching. What should I get?

Welcome to iMore! It's safe to say that all of the current models are more than capable of supporting voice recognition and Office applications so it boils down to personal preference. The MacBook Pro backs the biggest punch and is available with a 15" display. The MacBook Air is ultra portable and has ridiculously good battery life but I don't like the lack of retina display. The new MacBook is a good cross between the Air and the Pro and has a newly designed keyboard and trackpad (with ForceTouch). If you're near an Apple Store or another Apple retailer (i.e. Best Buy) I would stop in and play around with the MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro. Experience them all for yourself and make a decision from there.

Regardless of what you choose you'll be getting a great notebook :)
