Do not try turning it on. Probably the worst thing you can do. My suggestion would be to put it in a bag of rice for a few days and then try turning it back on. If you try turning it on now and it is wet inside you could short it out. You may still get lucky by drying it out with rice and then trying. But that is still no guarantee that it will work and if it does, as to how long before problems start showing.

The bag of rice trick sounds like black magic but it works well in many cases.

Beyond that you'll need to take it to Apple for a repair. Depending on the model you may be able to walk out with another after paying a bit.
