Is it possible to revert a photo to original if sent from another device?

ive received a photo from an iPhone 6 on whatsapp. The photo has two ppl on it but one of the persons face has been edited ( basically painted in colour) so can't see who it is. Is there a way to revert the change made to see the face in the pic???
