Photos option in preferences unchecks itself

I originally posted this issue on 30/05/2015 and re-posting it now in the hope to have my mitigated by someone.
I run OS X Yosemity V10.10.3 on a new iMac. When I click on System Preferences, and then on iCloud, my Photos option remains checked for a minute or so and then promptly unchecks itself.
All three boxes are checked under options, and iCloud Photo Library option under Preferences is selected in the Photos App. Anyone out there with a solution? Thank you

You may have to sign out of iCloud on your Mac, and then sign back in. Give it a try and see if that solves the problem.
