In order to restore, I need to have a proper back up in iTunes. Problem: When I back up to iTunes, many (sometimes all but one) iBook apparently is no longer on my iPad Air 2. To get them back, I need to re-check them and re-sync. I am working with Senior Support at Apple now, but we have not isolated the problem yet. Have you had this issue? [ePubs that now show the Cloud symbol instead of being installed include those purchased from the iBook Store as well as elsewhere (e.g., Tidbits)]
