Why is it when I record videos or FaceTime through my iPad, no one can hear me?

When I record videos, or even FaceTime through my iPad, no one can hear me. All they hear is

No one hears me. I cant even hear myself, but I CAN hear them.

Have you tried resetting your iPad by pressing the home/power button until the Apple logo appears?
