How can I make an icon reappear on my phone after downloading iOS 8.0.2?

After downloading iOS 8.0.2, a certain app stopped working.

When I connect the message says already downloaded. How can I make the icon reappear on the phone? Thanks

The icon did not reappear Remember, 1) the icon had been deleted, 2) the option to re-install the app, which was free, resulted in an "open" command, after which the icon still did not appear, 3) rebooting the iphone did not make the icon reappear either. Now what?

What app is it? Are you sure it's compatible with the version of iOS you're currently running on your device? Have you tried accessing your purchased app collection in iTunes and deleting it? This may reset things in App Store and fix the problem. Have you tried restoring?
