is it normal for my phone to take 3 hrs (1st ever time) to back up to icloud

I have been told i should back up to icloud but its saying its going to take 3 hrs. Its the 1st time ive done this. is this normal???

That depends on your internet/wifi speed and how much storage there is on your device. It can take a long time if your internet/wifi is slow.
