ipod versions

i have a ipod 3rd generation 32 gig, i got it jailbroken, hmm 4. something os, i believe its capable of 5.1 from apple, my question is......if your jailbroken are u still limited to what apple limits u to, or can u go higher like 6?

Nope, 4th gen didn't get it, and your 3rd gen hardware is way to ancient to be able to successfully run iOS 6, let alone 7. 5.1.1 is the highest you'll be able to get on it.

No the 3rd gen iPod touch can only be updated to iOS 5.1.1 (which is jailbreakable btw).
