What Happens if you Gift an App to Someone Who Already Has It?
Yesterday, I gifted an App to my son, only to find out that he already has it. What happens now? Does he get .99 added to his iTunes account? Do I get a refund? Does the money go to Cupertino to die? (Ok, I know iTunes purchases actually go to Reno, but same idea)

A. iTunes gift basically just generates a gift card that can only be used for a specific app. So you should be able to give the code from the gift email to someone else to use.
You might be able to call Apple for a refund but I don't know if they'll do that or not.

What a pain. I would never gift someone an app. They should just send a virtual gift card for the amount and say that you suggested the app. Then you could spend it on whatever you want.
