why is my whats app taking so long to restore

I deleted the app from my phone, then reinstalled it, it says restoring but has been doing that for week, I have approx. 49 unseen messages, so im receiving them but im unable to get to them as it says restoring from icloud

Could their be a problem with the WhatsApp servers? Are you connected to Wi-Fi?

My whats app has been restoring for about 5 hours now it was looking good and was at 69MB but I took it off charge and now won't move from 19.4Mb can I make it go any faster or is there anything else I can do help plz !!!
