Restart might get my iphone working?

Hello guys,

My iphone had a failed sleep/wake button some time ago, but I kept using it.

One day my iphone was on my desk, and when I tried tried to check the clock, it just wasn`t working (didn`t fall or anything, stopped working while locked).

No responses on home button or silent mode button (no vibration when swiched to silent mode).
No responses also when connected to charger or usb. (PC doesn`t recognize anything, nothing on iphone screen)

I was wondering if a restart could bring my iphone back to life. I can`t do that because the sleep button is broken.

If a restart could work, then I can fix the sleep button and try it, otherwise I don`t know what to do. What do you think?

If you're certain the problem isn't mechanical then it's possible. Can you even get to your home screen?
