Question re data transfer from iphone 6 to new iphone 11

Have just purchased an 11 and want to transfer my data from my iphone 6

I read somewhere that the i6 is no longer supported by apple

Would there be any difference in the data transfer options used because of the old iphone?

Also should the old sim card (Cricket) be removed from the i6 and installed in the new 11 before data transfer??

If you back up your old device to iCloud you can use that backup on your new device but both devices need to be on the same OS.
