Photos taken are not being saved to Camera Roll or Photostream

I have an iPhone 4 and have updated to ios 6.0.1. If I take a photo, the picture saves and drops down to the box in the lower lefthand corner, but then it disappears right away. It does not save to the camera roll or to the photostream. I have reset my settings and restored the phone back to the factory settings. Neither have worked, does anyone know how to fix this? I have gone to verizon and googled suggestions but have found no answers!

Did you try to restore and setup as a new phone vs using a backup ?

And is this the Apple camera app? Some third party apps like Camera+ have an option to save within the app instead.
