Cool! Thanks for the heads up!!! @Ed7789 are there ever any "Canada specific" challenges? I've often wondered if Apple creates challenges for other countries! If they don't, they should!

Best of luck to everyone!

It’s not offered here, so I don’t think I will get credited.
Annie’s right - that’s not fair. Since aboot 90% of Canada IS a national park, every time you do 20 minutes of exercise, you should get an award.

I agree on the it’s not fair part.

But Canada is not 90% national park, unfortunately, not even close. It’s more like 3% 😞

That notwithstanding, our National Parks Day is the third Saturday in July… it would have been proper for Apple to send the challenge at that time. Oh well... we can hope for Thanksgiving in October.

Okay, 90% was an exaggeration, but still, 80% of Canada is uninhabited. How can so little of that be national park???

One word: politics.

Technically, to become a national park, a province (Provincial Crown) needs to cede the land to the federal government (Canadian Crown) first. Alas, those negotiations takes years and years.

The figure I provided does not include Provincial Parks, which also are natural protected areas, and dedicated conservation zones. The amount of land protected or publicly owned is bigger.
