My IPhone can text or FaceTime one of my friends but won't call him.

So I was texting one of my friends and we decided to call each other, but when I tried to call him, my phone said calling and rang like four times and then went silent. On his phone, the call never even popped up and my phone didn't get sent to voicemail. When he called me it said calling but it didn't make any ringing noises and it didn't come through to my phone. We tried to FaceTime and that worked perfectly but we just can't call each other. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I can only assume there’s a network problem of some sort. Both of you should contact your wireless carriers and have them troubleshoot from their end.
