My iPhone 5 is jailbroken and won't restore

I have an iPhone 5 I got from a friend he said it was jailbroken and it won't restore anyone know how to fix this

Put the device in DFU mode, connect it to your computer, and then restore it via iTunes. It may take you several tries, but it should eventually restore.
