I have a metal case on my iPhone 6, I noticed that the Internet connection is not as strong as I expected, is it because of the case?

Take the case off and test in the exact same location.

Yes, metal cases do decrease your signal strength. They make it more difficult for the signal to get to the antennas, which get signal through those cream colored lines on the phone. Even an aluminum bumper case will reduce signal strength.
