iphone 4 verizon service VERY weak after opening cannot make calls

I tryed to fix my phone with these videos from this site, but now there is almost NO reception. Occasionally I have 1 bar and can text but not make calls.

What are the points I need to check in the phone to make sure the service works correctly?

try and reset your network settings
settings- general- reset- reset network settings
did it yesterday and my connection was better

Have you installed any jailbreak tweaks? Investigate into those you have installed because that can be a reason too.

Other things to try... Airplane Mode. Turn it on for a minute or so, then off again... Also go into settings>> General>> About - if a pop-up appears about a carrier settings update - do that update... And if you're using a case at all - remove that, and see if your situation improves... if removing a case gets better reception - don't use that case anymore.
