Iphone 3gs jailbreak, Help

Hi all new to forums here but looking for help.

I recently purchased a second hand 3gs from my niece

Its currently got version: 3.1.3 (7e18) o2 uk locked
firmware: 05.12.01

Now i dont post here lightly as I have scoured the net locking for jailbreak
and unlock methods, actually spent 3 hrs last night

Now im puzzled as some sites say it can be done and others still say it cant
I am assuming if it can be done its through Redsnow then unlocked with app
from cydia

all in all really just looking for some forum members to point me in the right
direction, as I do become a bit tentative about these tasks.

Im fairly computer literate (well managed to root my HTC Desire)
so any websites you guys recommend for a walkthrough would be a
great help

Jailbreak it with Spirit then u can unlock with ultrasn0w, that's a zero btw, it's in cydia. Quick and easy

I have been doing some more trolling of the web
could I use Jailbreakme.com as well
or is the preferential way to use spirit

Use spirit. It's the easiest and quickest way to jb ur iPhone. Jailbreakme is for iOS4
