I'm not sure how to proceed and I don't want to mess up my phone
I have an iPhone 5 32 gb and I use a Dell XPS 8500 Win10Pro desktop.
I was doing pretty well until recently when my HD malfunctioned and I had to replace it. I re-downloaded iTunes after installing the new HD, authorized the computer, and used my iPhone to restore the info but it didn't fully sync.
iTunes on my iPhone contains the 494 songs that I purchased and nearly 1,000 from my own library, along with several playlists I created. iTunes on my computer only shows the purchased music, and none of the music I added from my library or playlists I created. When I do try to sync it tells me that there's only three steps, which it goes through, and it begins to download "Genius" info but that only lasts for a few seconds. At the bottom of the page where the sync button usually sits are two buttons. one says "Revert" and the other says "Apply". I didn't know which to press because I don't want to lose the info from my phone. When I closed iTunes I got a message saying I changed my iPhone settings and did I want to apply the changes. I clicked "NO" because I didn't know what the result would be.
Being a novice at this I don't know how to proceed. I want to restore my iTunes on my computer from iTunes on my iPhone without losing anything, including playlists and contacts
I realize this is kinda basic stuff so please take pity on a 68 year old, thanks.
iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.2
