I am seeing more and more ads trying to sell virus and internet protection for Macs? is that needed and what products are you guys using? With my PC. I had Norton, MacAfee and others over the years.. But I always thought that Macs didn't need them

Thanks

I have Avast. It runs quietly in the background with no performance hit from what I can tell. Viruses may not be as prominent for Macs but I also transfer many files for PC’s and it has caught viruses before I passed them along even though they wouldn’t affect my Mac.

I used to use ClamAV on my old 2009 model MacBook, but I don’t use any on my 2017 MacBook Pro.

Hadn’t used anything on my iMac but was concerned. I started using Dr. Antivirus per a recommendation in a Cult Of Mac ad. It’s available in the Mac App Store. Seems to be working well.
