Did iOS update and iTunes is all that shows

Help! I did the iOS update on husbands phone & now all that shows is charger and iTunes symbol. Turning phone off and on does not help. It's an iPhone 4s. How do I fix it?

You will have to connect the device to your computer and restore it via iTunes to get it operational again.
