Device isn’t responding

My daughters ipad isn’t responding. I can’t even shut it down. She says she was just watching You Tube when one of her apps asked for permission but she couldn’t respond. I realized I couldn’t respond and tried to shut it down and I couldn’t.

It has a home and I’m so used to not having one now with my iPhone 13. It’s responding. I avoided a trip to Apple in the city.
